Hoople helped the homeless!

The response to Hoople Recruitment’s recent ‘Help the homeless’ appeal was outstanding, with hundreds of items being donated to the campaign by Herefordshire businesses and individuals.
At the drop-in event held at Hoople Recruitment’s Blueschool Street premises on Wednesday 7 December, local people arrived in droves to donate items such as sleeping bags, tents and rucksacks, clothing and shoes, toiletries, tinned and packaged food.
Local businesses were similarly generous: Belvoir lettings donated ten sleeping bags to the cause, Taylor Lane Timber Frame collected a large amount of clothing from their staff and Fluidmaster UK Ltd made a cash donation of £500. In addition, ABC Print kindly printed promotional leaflets about the campaign free of charge and the team there put funds together to donate a substantial amount of food.
Bonnie Evans, Recruitment Consultant at Hoople Recruitment says: “We appealed to our customers, colleagues and the general public to help us and we have been completely overwhelmed by the generosity of the Herefordshire community, both businesses and individuals alike. Being homeless is hard at any time of year, but it seems especially so in the winter and when most of us are looking forward to Christmas with our families. That’s why we decided to initiate this campaign and we couldn’t be happier with the outcome. Thank you to everyone who supported us.”
The drop-in campaign was organised to help Kemble Housing’s Supported Housing for Young People Project (SHYPP). Their representative, Ellie Prescott, says: “We have received so many donations which we can share with young people experiencing homelessness. A massive thank you to all the team at Hoople Recruitment who organised the collection for us.”
Anyone wishing to give further support to SHYPP can find out more about their work and donate via their facebook page and BT donate.
