Levels 2 and 3 Business and Administration

Who is it for?

Effective administration is a feature of all successful businesses and this apprenticeship is therefore suitable for anyone who is looking for (or is already working in) a primarily office-based career, regardless of the nature of the business.

What personal qualities will I need?

You will be a good organiser and enjoy working with other people. You will be good at working in teams, but also able to work by yourself. Effective timekeeping will be important as is the ability to concentrate on your work and to be able to apply yourself to given tasks.

Are there any entry requirements?

There are no formal entry requirements as the apprenticeship programme will include training in maths, English and ICT skills if you do not already hold a GCSE Grade A-C in these subjects. 

What kind of things will I learn?

This will depend upon your workplace, but could include:

  • Answering the telephone
  • Managing diaries
  • Filing and organising documents
  • Organising meetings
  • Dealing with the post
  • Data processing
  • Office communications

What qualification will I achieve?

Completion of this apprenticeship will take 12 to 18 months. On successful completion, you will be awarded either a level 2 or level 3 Diploma in Business and Administration.
