Working in care means making a positive difference to others' lives when they are faced with physical, practical, social, emotional or intellectual challenges. To be successful, you need to have the right personal values and behaviours to be able to develop skills and abilities that  provide high quality, compassionate care and support to adults.

Apprentices undertaking this programme will study for a Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults)

Further detailed information about this apprenticeship is available on the Government's website.

Level 2 Healthcare Support Worker

This apprenticeship is for those who work or are interested in working as part of a healthcare team to provide high quality and compassionate care to individuals. Typical duties include such things as monitoring clients' conditions, eg blood pressure, temperature and weight checks. You could be preparing individuals for healthcare activities carried out by other members of the healthcare team and looking after them before, during and/or after those activities in line with their care plan.

In order to undertake this apprenticeship, you must be a caring and compassionate individual who is honest, conscientious and committed to the work role.

During the first part of this apprenticeship you will be supported to achieve the Care Certificate which will form part of your induction and covers the fundamental skills needed to provide quality care.
