Palliative & End of Life Care and Organ Diseases 2 (Heart Disease)

Content: We will consider issues relevant to Palliation of organ disease (heart disease). We will have the opportunity to examine the impact of such diagnosis and the impact of transitions of care for both professionals and patient/family.

Dementia Level 2 Award

Provider: Kemble Training

Date: March: 8th, 22nd / April: 12th / May: 3rd, 17th / June: 7th, 21st/ July: 12th, 26th / August: 9th, 23rd

Content:Aimed at new and existing care staff to give them an understanding of what Dementia is and to support them with further knowledge so they can support end users. This accredited course lasts for one day with a work book completed in the following week in their own time. The work book is then marked, quality assured and then accredited with our awarding body City and Guilds.

Palliative & End of Life Care in Dementia

Emergency First Aid at Work Level 3

Provider: Kemble Care

Date: Friday 26th March 9am

Cost: £40 including refreshments

Content: Aimed at existing or new staff to update skills and knowledge. The objective of this qualification is to support learners in becoming emergency first aiders in the workplace. The content of the qualification meets the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) requirements for training emergency first-aiders in those organisations that have identified that staff need to be trained to this level within their first-aid needs assessment.
The qualification covers knowledge such as the roles and responsibilities of the first aider and how to assess an incident. The qualification also covers first aid skills in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), providing first aid to a casualty who is choking and dealing with external bleeding and hypovolaemic shock.
In line with guidance provided by the HSE, the qualification supports/approves work place emergency first aiders for a period of 3 years, after which point learners will need to retake the course.

Ethical and Personal Impact Issues and Palliation in Rheumatological Diseases

This qualification is designed to provide learners with knowledge of the basic health and safety practices essential in the workplace. The qualification provides learners with an understanding of the responsibilities and employers and employees, the benefits of good health and safety, steps to a risk assessment, common causes of and how to reduce accidents, near misses and ill-health, typical hazards and controls in the workplace, emergency procedures and the importance of recording accidents, near misses and ill-health occurrences.

Training games are available for providers to loan to support staff training sessions. They are great for helping make sessions interactive and fun. Subjects covered include:

The Employees' Support in Skills project (ESS) (funded by the European Social Fund)

When: Funding available until March 2019

Organiser: Riverside Training

The subject: The ESS supports SMEs (small and medium sized enterprises) within the Marches to upskill employees aged 16 and over to develop their knowledge, skills and career prospects.

This is achieved by delivering fully funded local training that meets the requirements identified by the Marches Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and includes the health and social care sector.
