LOOK-UK (Charity No:1140471) a Hereford-based charity, is looking for an experienced Marketing and Communications Co-ordinator.
LOOK-UK is a national charity for young people with a vision impairment. These are exciting times. We are in the early stages of launching our mentoring project aimed to support young people with a vision impairment aged 11-29. We are looking for a dynamic person to join our team who will share our passion and help promote this innovative project and help grow our small charity. LOOK-UK has 25 years of experience of supporting young vision impaired people and their families.
Reports to: Line manager
Post: P/T, remote working with the ability to attend team meetings minimum 2 days per month in Hereford, with occasional weekend work
Hours: 2 days 12 months fixed term contract with a 3 month probation period
Marketing and communications co-ordinator -Part Time.
As the Marketing and Communications co-ordinator, you will have responsibility for ensuring that all internal and external communications are presented in a highly professional and “on brand” format.
A willingness to be part of a small, ‘hands on’ team is essential.Some key duties and responsibilities will include: creating and updating content for our website (which is currently in development); generating and updating content for social media; delivering bespoke marketing campaigns; writing and circulating monthly online newsletter; ensuring that all materials adhere to brand identity, including print and exhibition materials; creating and editing audio, photographs or videos as required; Organising Look’s presence at exhibitions and conferences; developing Look’s internal communications strategy
Essential skills and experience:
Ability to take initiative; creative flair with exceptional attention to detail; an ability to work to deadlines and within budget; confident in presenting engaging content and editing volunteer’s content; knowledge of wordpress and how to update content, working knowledge of IT platforms such as mail chimp and survey monkey; a positive and proactive attitude and willingness to be very ‘hands on’ as part of a small team; exceptional communication skills and a confidence to liaise with external clients and stakeholders as required.
Ability to work in a team and work on one’s own initiative planning and co-ordinating communications strategies. Previous role in marketing and communications department knowledge of word press and other IT platforms, such as mail chimp and survey monkey comfortable in the production of press releases and generating publicity.
Good writing style and confidence in creating and editing engaging content Confident with creating, managing and scheduling online marketing campaigns across all social media and other online platforms
Ability to edit sound and video content Strong confidence with branding creative and competent with design and desk top publishing.
Ability to build a strong network and make meaningful connections
Ability to work flexibly, under pressure and adapt to change
Ability to motivate, Excellent written, aural and communications skills
Ability to travel as appropriate with occasional overnight stays
Strong general numeracy and IT skills desirable
A general understanding of issues facing young disabled people and their families
An understanding of and commitment to diversity and equal opportunities
Some travel will be necessary, so use of car essential.
