Clerk to the Governors | Hereford, Herefordshire | £1,583per annum plus £200 Market Forces Supplement
Due to the retirement in October of the current post holder, the Governors of The Bishop of Hereford’s Bluecoat School have a vacancy for a Clerk to the Governing Body. The Governors are keen to fill this vacancy from September to ensure a successful handover period. This is a demanding job and requires flexibility in terms of being available for meetings at the school. The main purpose of this role is to ensure the Governors are fully supported at all their meetings (average of 3 per month but will vary on the time of school year). The Clerk will report to the Chair of Governors and the main duties include:
• Preparation and publication of meeting agendas one week before the meeting. Detailed recording and publication of minutes of all governor meetings;
• Provide advice to the governors on current education legislation and Department of Education Policies for Schools and Governors.
• Maintain an up to date Register of pecuniary and business interests of Governors • Work closely with the School Admin Team on parent ballots • Work closely with the Diocesan Board of Education •
Applicants will need to be fully conversant with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint software, and Adobe Acrobat editing tools and be able to work collaboratively with people It is essential that you have experience of detailed minute taking. Previous experience of a Clerk in a school would be desirable.
This is an annualised contract which equates to a monthly average work time of 12.5hours. Additional hours in excess of 12.5 (monthly) will be paid.
This role is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.
