We are seeking a Family Support worker for the Brookfield School, you will have the chance to work with some of the most vulnerable young people across Herefordshire and their families to support their resilience.

Working with our Safeguarding Team, you will help to ensure our young people continue on their educational journey as confident, resilient, emotionally literate, ambitious and tolerant young people who are effective communicators in wider society.

You will have a genuine passion for working with children with additional needs. You will be dedicated to working with families, championing vulnerable children and will have a working knowledge of SEN in terms of practice and legislative frameworks. You will take on a facilitation role, working with families to ensure the home and school are working towards common goals and that parents and carers are supported to best meet the needs of their children and young people. This will include enhanced Safeguarding and Early Help assessment training.

We want to interview candidates who can evidence that they have experience of working proactively with parents and pupils who are experiencing challenge, particularly in regulating their behaviours. Ideally someone who has delivered parent/ carer training and can demonstrate a knowledge of the challenges facing families. We are looking for someone who is resilient, innovative and has the type of enthusiasm that’s infectious, so that you bring about change in a positive way. You’re also sensitive, respectfully challenging, patient and kind: just the type of person our students, pupils and community can relate to.
