ECHO is a charity working with people with learning and physical disabilities and people with mental health issues in Herefordshire. ECHO runs 28 different activities each week in community settings across Herefordshire. ECHO is committed to providing services that promote choice, rights and independence for disabled people in Herefordshire.
Lifelinks is a community based service within Hereford city. The aim of this service is to provide volunteering and community opportunities around Hereford as a means of enabling people with learning disabilities to contribute to the well being of their local community. Lifelinks works with small groups of adults with learning disabilities (maximum of 4 in each group and 2 or 3 groups each day). By working as a team with support, Lifelinks enables people with a wide range of disabilities to take part in the life of their local community.
We are seeking a member of staff to join the team on Fridays. The group meet at Hampton Dene URC Church Hall and from there go out and about into the local community.
If you like arts, crafts, cooking, shopping, gardening, chatting, being quiet, being noisy, keeping busy, having a challenge and want to use your skills to help others, this may be the job for you.
You must be able to use your own initiative as well as being an excellent team player. Previous experience of working with people with learning disabilities essential, plus a good knowledge of local networks and organisations. Driver with access to a car essential.
