ECHO is a charity working with people with learning and physical disabilities and people with mental health issues in Herefordshire. ECHO runs 28 different activities each week in community settings across Herefordshire. ECHO is committed to providing services that promote choice, rights and independence for disabled people in Herefordshire.
ECHO already has a Training and Volunteer Coordinator working 3 days/week. We currently have over 80 active volunteers. However, an increasing number of people approaching us to become volunteers have their own support needs. Thanks to a 5 year grant from the Big Lottery Fund we are now able to appoint an additional full time worker to enable us to support a greater diversity of potential volunteers, whether they be our own participants with learning disabilities, people with mental health conditions or those seeking to return to the jobs market.
- In partnership with other project staff, recruit, train and support a wide range of volunteers to work within ECHO projects
- Provide additional training and support to enable people with their own support needs to take part in volunteering both within ECHO and in the wider community.
- To take the lead on monitoring progress for the individual project participants.
You must be able to use your own initiative as well as being an excellent team player. Access to independent means of travel essential.
