These roles are required to be filled as soon as possible, therefore, our aim is to identify candidates with prior emergency call centre experience in order for them to be fully functioning call takers as quickly as possible. We can be very flexible on hours, therefore, although ideally, the attached shift pattern would be their working pattern, we would not want potential candidates deterred by this. Should the preferred candidate accept 31.82 hours, this attracts a 20% shift allowance plus additional 13.95% weekend working allowance.
The candidates would be asked to answer and handle calls from members of the public calling in via 101. The candidates should be able to remain calm under pressure as it is a busy office environment, and have good customer service skills. We do not anticipate that individuals appointed to these roles will be dispatching police officers to incidents.
A strategic alliance has been formed between Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police in order to enable both forces to meet the challenge of reducing policing budgets. By working more closely together the forces will benefit from greater operational and organisational resilience, making us the fourth largest geographic police area in England and Wales.
Hindlip has beautiful surroundings and easy access from the motorway (M5) plus many other benefits to include:
Staff restaurant, however, the OCC building also has it's own kitchen facilities for communications staff use
Subsidised gym facilities
The main purpose of the role is to receive, record and assess emergency and non emergency requests for policing services and provide resolution where appropriate and to manage and control the deployment of policing resources in line with Deployment Principles, Force Policy, working practices and service standards within Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police.
