ECHO is committed to providing services that promote choice, rights and independence for disabled people in Herefordshire.

We are seeking to recruit a Projects Manager to take the lead and develop our Hereford Services. The role requires you to take responsibility for the successful delivery and development of the Hereford Services, under the guidance of the Deputy Chief Officer for Life Skills and Leisure. The current Hereford Services include the Wednesday Lifelinks, Wednesday Cookery Club and Friday Lifelinks.

The Wednesday Lifelinks is based at The Belmont Community Centre (Eastholme Road, Belmont, Hereford).  The Friday Lifelinks is based at the United Reform Church, (Hampton Dene Road, Tupsley, Hereford). They currently run as an activity-based project (art, crafts and cooking), however pre-Covid they included undertaking voluntary work for the local community.  The Wednesday Cookery Club is based at Challenge Church (Belmont Road, Hereford) and is currently run as a Participant cooking lunch activity, however pre-Covid this used to run as a café at another venue.

Your role would be attending and leading staff at the Wednesday and Friday Lifelinks and oversee the running of the Wednesday Cookery Club. You will be responsible for the design and delivery of an interesting and varied activity programme at the above Projects. You will lead the staff team and work with our Participants to ensure the activities delivered are appropriate and meet the Participants needs and wishes. This will include working with the Participation Involvement Worker to ensure Participants are involved in the whole process of the projects they attend and in the running of the organisation. You will be responsible for the safety of staff and Participants when at the Project and liaise with colleagues and other agencies when matters arise.

This is an appointment of 18 hours per week and the hours will need to cover the set up and delivery of the Lifelinks groups 9am – 4pm Wednesday and Friday. The remaining hours will be used to attend supervisions/meetings with your line manager, undertake formal supervision of staff and in the development of future projects.

The salary is linked to NJC salary scale point 15 at £11,452.40 pa (FTE £23,859)
