Vennture is a dynamic charity making a proven impact in the community.

With funding from the Reaching Communities Fund, Vennture has exciting plans to design and provide a new service to mentor young people alongside their proven families’ programme, and we are now recruiting a Youth Mentor.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with experience of and a passion for working with young people and teenagers.

You will be energetic and proactive, with a resourceful and creative approach to problem solving as well as being comfortable using your strong communication skills to engage and build rapport. If you possess genuine hard-edged compassion and understanding, the ability to manage a demanding workload and the ability to stick with people through thick and thin we want to hear from you.

Under the direction of the Youth Development Lead, you will be focussed on achieving results and working on your own initiative. You will work alongside young people – many of whom are disaffected boys aged 14-16 - who are finding things tough and need support to overcome the barriers they are facing to reach their full potential. You will be required to monitor progress towards the outcomes they have set for themselves and evidence their steps forward.

Vennture works with people of all faiths, and none. Our employees and volunteers are drawn from all sectors of society. Regardless, a Christian vision, ethos and principles underpin the way Vennture operates, and it is expected that the successful applicant will have empathy with and be able to embrace our Venn values of Faith, Love and Endeavour. They will connect to our sense of purpose and vision and be able to integrate swiftly and successfully into our hard working and friendly team and enjoy being part of a challenging and ground- breaking initiative.
