Teaching is a challenging and rapidly changing profession but if you are looking for a purpose in your teaching career, above and beyond anything that can be found in a mainstream school, then your career in Special Needs education can start at our school.
We are looking to become an ‘Outstanding’ school, not simply in terms of the judgements made by Ofsted (judged ‘Good’ in our last inspection in 2017), but in all aspects of our working practice; offering pupils a safe, exciting and stimulating environment to work in and our staff a range of CPD opportunities that will allow them to become the best practitioners they can be. We will nurture, challenge and develop any staff who are fortunate enough to work at our school, in the same way that we look to meet the ongoing needs of the children and families in our care. That is the Blackmarston promise.
This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher to develop their own teaching skills and their knowledge of SEND.
We are looking for:
- A kind, calm and enthusiastic teacher, who will lead a class team of 3 or 4 teaching assistants, working in support of up to 9 pupils in a class.
- A teacher who is highly organised, flexible and committed to the progress of every child, regardless of their starting points or barriers to learning
We can offer:
- A supportive team used to working together
- The opportunity to work within a distinctive curriculum pathway, supported by expert colleagues
- Excellent opportunities for continuing professional development
- A friendly and stimulating environment in which to work
Does this sound like something that you might make a positive contribution to? A place where you will be able to enhance our teaching and learning offer and somewhere that you can grow as a teaching professional? Then we look forward to receiving your application.
Blackmarston School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Appointment subject to all pre-employment checks and, where appropriate, satisfactory completion of your probation.
School visits are planned for the following dates (all tours start at 1.30pm and because of social distancing requirements, will be limited to 2 applicants at any one time):
Monday 19th, Wednesday 21st, Thursday 22nd, Friday 23rd, Monday 26th and Wednesday 28th April 2021.
We will also consider giving candidates ‘virtual’ tours of the school (if you can bear our wobbly hand-held phone camera technique)!
