St Mary’s R C High School is a popular and oversubscribed Catholic school with a strong ethos. It is very forward-looking and has excellent support both from governors and parents.

We require an Examinations Officer/Administrative Assistant. The main role will be to ensure the smooth running of school exams and public examinations held in school. In particular:

  • To be responsible for examination entries for internal and external examinations
  • To assist in the recruitment and line management of examination invigilators and to create a timetable of their responsibilities and activity;
  • To liaise with Heads of Department on pupil examination entries.

The hours for this role would be 37 hours paid per week term time only but the successful candidate would be expected to work 33 hours per week, the remaining 4 hours (152hours per annum) would be ‘banked’ each week. These’ banked’ hours would then be offset against all the extra hours necessary to fulfil the role during the busy exam/results periods.

Good communication skills are essential. Prior experience of schools’ examination processes and SIMS are highly desirable. The post holder may also be required to provide some general administrative support to the school.
