Hours: 16 per week, term time only

Weston-under-Penyard is a welcoming and expanding Primary School judged ‘Good’ by OFSTED in December 2014.

Starting as soon as possible, this post is to support and enhance the education of a named child, who has specific learning needs until the end of the Summer Term 2019. The successful applicant will be aware of a nurturing and sensory approach to working with children. They will also be able to promote positive social and emotional behaviours in the classroom. The applicant will be enthusiastic, motivated and have plenty of patience and a sense of humour!   The contract will be attached to this child and, should the child leave school, the contract would cease. In the absence of the child on a normal school day, the successful applicant will be required to work in any of the classrooms where there is a need.

The chosen candidate will also be able to contribute to the ethos, high expectations and Christian values of the school.

As a Teaching Assistant you will:

  • Work directly with the named child in receipt of additional funding to provide feedback and support

  • Liaise with multi agency teams responsible for the progress of this child

  • Have a thorough understanding of behaviour management and attachment

  • Be able to take the initiative within a small team

  • Have experience of working with children across the primary age range

  • Have excellent personal literacy and numeracy skills
