Unforeseen circumstances dictate that we are now looking to recruit a dynamic. competent, hard working, committed, fun new member to our management team, to work in collaboration with our existing manager.
Duties will include adopting the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the setting whilst building strong and secure bonds with children, parents, extended families, guardians and staff alike.
A sound knowledge of Safeguarding practice is therefore essential and an understanding of Herefordshire Safeguarding Children Partnership's 'Right Help, Right Time Levels of Need' would be beneficial.
You will also take responsibility for the co-ordination of NEF funding for all 2,3 and 4 year old children who qualifiy for government funded hours at the setting.
You should understand and will be fully supported in ensuring the safer recruitment process of appropriate staff into the setting where required in conjunction with other managers.
You will be involved in a joint approach to recruitment, retention, management and deployment of staff with support from management, trustees and our highly experienced HR consultants.
You will be assisted in the development, update and management of our robust policies and procedures.
Your own experience must be to an absolute minimum of Level 3 Early Years Education with preferably at least three years of relevant management and of managing people in particular.
You must be fully knowledgeable in your understanding of the EYFS framework to children aged 6 months to 4 years within a busy nursery setting - and to those of reception age (relating to our busy after school and holiday care).
You must be organised, dedicated and open to attend/undertake ongoing training relating to the future development of our well-resourced setting - both indoors and outdoors.
You will be involved in the appraisal and supervision processes with staff and also in the Ofsted process at inspection so you must understand the new inspection framework as well as the EYFS, COELS, the newly developed Birth to 5 Matters documentation as well as Safeguarding documentation.
You will be expected to attend Early Years Briefings (formerly Leaders and Managers meetings) and to participate and deliver at in-house staff meetings in conjunction with other members of the team.

You should be of polite disposition with a good telephone and face-to-face manner.
You should be professional at all times, compassionate and empathetic but a strong, level headed player.
Above all, a good sense of humours a must !
You may, on occasion, be required to step in as a practitioner where any absence or suchlike may occur unexpectedly however this post is essentially a supernumerary position which is for a minimum of 24 hrs per week.
Salary is entirely dependant upon experience.
Hours are negotiable and we will consider full or part time.
