Job details

We are looking to appoint an experienced and hard-working Pupil and Family Support Worker to support children and families at our school. This is a varied role, which requires the successful candidate to be versatile, energetic, and innovative, as well as being a good problem solver. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential.

The successful person will be able to:

  • Provide advice, support and guidance to parents to promote positive care and parenting skills.

  • Work closely with staff, other agencies and the local community to promote collaborative working.

  • Support vulnerable families by attending relevant Social Care meetings.

  • Support parents to engage with all aspects of the life of the school.

  • Work with parents and key staff to support regular pupil attendance and punctuality.

  • Taking the lead professional role as appropriate when providing Early Help support with families

  • Adopt a pro-active approach to supporting families’ first needs

  • Organise and deliver parenting workshops that support our families

  • Work actively with settings and organisations within our community for the good of our pupils and their families.

  • Actively work as the deputy DSL (Designated Safeguarding Lead), supported by the Headteacher (DSL) and SENCo.

  • Take part in every aspect of school life including educational visits, residential trips and school events.
