Level 5 Health and Social Care
Hoople currently offers two Level 5 Health and Social Care apprenticeships:
- Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services - Adult Residential Management and Adult Management (Framework)
- Healthcare Assistant Practitioner (Standard)

This apprenticeship is for those who are already working in health and social care at assistant or deputy manager level or are working towards a management post and have not yet achieved a vocational qualification at this level. It is designed to give learners the opportunity to build both managerial and care skills.
You will be expected to undertake a number of mandatory units, including subjects such as communications, equality and diversity, safeguarding, health and safety and risk management. In addition, you will select units relevant to your work role and setting, such as recruitment and selection, managing induction, understanding dementia, end of life care and managing domiciliary care services.
Assessment will be by portfolio of evidence, practical demonstrations and written assignments.

Level 5 Healthcare Assistant Practitioner
Assistant Practitioners work as part of the wider health and social care team and have direct contact with patients, service users or clients providing high quality and compassionate care. Assistant Practitioners can be found working in a range of areas, for example within cancer services, physiotherapy, orthopaedics, hospice care and mental health settings.
Assistant Practitioners work at a level above that of Healthcare Support Workers and have a more in-depth understanding about factors that influence health and ill-health (eg anatomy and physiology).
Apprentices undertaking this programme with Hoople will work towards a Level 5 Diploma for Assistant Practitioners in Healthcare. To be eligible, you must be in a job role where you are assisting a health practitioner, for example assisting a nurse, physiotherapist or occupational therapist.
