Training, assessment and quality assurance (TAQA) (levels 3, 4)
These qualifications are suitable for those working or hoping to work in the assessment of competence and vocational skills. They are suitable for practically any type of learning environment or organisation.
To undertake these programmes, you must already hold a suitable qualification in the occupational area in which you plan to assess learners. You will be required to attend an interview before enrolment in order for us to ascertain your access to the appropriate students needed to complete these qualifications.
Training and Assessment Qualification (Level 3)
This course is the Quality Care Foundation’s (QCF’s) replacement for the previous A1 Assessor’s Award
It is for anyone who wants to be an assessor and it is likely that, upon successful completion, the trainer could assess competence or non-competence based learning, knowledge or skills.
How long does it take?
Usually six months, dependent on how quickly the candidates you will be assessing for your evidence complete their QCF units.
What are the outcomes?
The course covers the following subjects:
- Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practice of Assessment (3 credits)
- Level 3 Award in Assessing Occupational Competence in the Work Environment (6 credits)
- Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievements (6 credits)
Quality Assurance Qualification (Level 4)
This course can be completed after successful achievement of the Training and Assessment Qualification. Its purpose is to train assessors and those carrying out quality assurance to attain current assessment and quality assurance standards, together with the necessary competencies to deliver.
It is for those who would like to quality assure the work of a number of assessors in a learning environment in order to ensure that standardisation of the award is valid, current, authentic and sufficient.
This qualification replaces the previous A2 award to bring it in line with QCF standards.
