Award in education and training (level 3)
This nationally recognised Level 3 award is an introduction to teaching that will give an insight into the roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training. It covers the basics of teaching in continuing and adult education, including how to plan sessions, motivate learners and use a variety of assessment methods.
Who is it for?
The award is for those who work, or want to work, as teachers/trainers in further education or who work in an adult or community learning centre, or a work-based learning or training organisation and wish to gain official qualifications.
You should have an idea of what subjects you’d like to teach and either have or be working towards a qualification in your chosen area.
What are the outcomes?
On completion of this training course, participants will be able to understand:
- The roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training
- Inclusive teaching and learning approaches
- Assessment of learners
- Facilitating learning and development for individuals
- Facilitating learning and development in groups
- Principles and practices of assessment
How is the course delivered?
The course has a flexible approach and will be delivered in a variety of methods, including classroom instruction, practical assessment and research. There are three assignments to be completed of which one will be a micro teaching session.
You will have access to email and telephone support throughout the programme from your tutor.
You will be asked to attend an interview prior to the start of the course.
