Certificate in education and training (level 4)
This nationally recognised Level 4 award is a first stage teaching qualification which has a teaching/training practice requirement. It is an ‘in service’ qualification designed for those working or wishing to work as teachers/trainers. It may be possible for pre-service teachers/trainers (defined as those who are not formally contracted as teachers/trainers) to also complete this qualification.
Who is it for?
This course is for those working, or wishing to work, as a teacher or trainer; it is also suitable for pre-service teachers and trainers.
What are the outcomes?
On completion of this training course, participants will be able to:
- Understand roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training
- Plan to meet the needs of learners in education and training
- Deliver education and training
- Assess learners in education and training
- Effectively use resources for education and training
How is the course delivered?
The course has a flexible approach to study and research to complete assignments and must include a portfolio of 30 teaching hours, of which at least three sessions will be observed by your tutor.
You will have access to email and telephone support throughout the programme from your tutor.
You will be asked to attend an interview prior to the start of the course.
This course can be delivered in-house if required.
