Supporting teaching and learning in schools (STLS) (levels 2, 3)
Supporting teaching and learning in schools (STLS) provides newly employed teaching and support assistants with a nationally recognised qualification. It also allows those already working in schools to progress their careers. It is currently part of an apprenticeship framework, and as such may qualify for funding by Government.
Who is it for?
This award is for people who work in a school setting with children of all ages and abilities. It suits both those who are newly employed in a school as a teaching and support assistant and are hoping to gain a qualification in their chosen field as well as those already working in schools who wish to progress their careers.
What are the outcomes?
On completion of this course, participants will have achieved a fully recognised qualification from City and Guilds. They will have learnt how to give support to the teacher and the children within their class.
Please note that all apprenticeships are currently being reviewed by Government and are moving from frameworks to apprenticeship standards. As a result, course content and assessment methods may change from spring 2017.
You will be required to attend the Hoople training centre for the underpinning knowledge sessions and support with your portfolio.
