The governors and leadership team are seeking to appoint a highly enthusiastic and experienced
Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our current team supporting the education and welfare of pupils
at Ivington.
The main responsibilities would be:
• To complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning
activities under an agreed system of supervision. This will involve planning, preparing and
delivering learning activities, for individuals, for groups and for whole classes. It will involve
monitoring pupils and assessing, recording and reporting on pupil’s achievement, progress and
development.
• Responsible for the management and development of a specialist area within the school and/or
management of other teaching assistants including the allocation and monitoring of work,
appraisal and training.
The candidates will have:
• An empathic, patient and caring approach and the ability to support children struggling with
expectations and boundaries and/or academic progress.
• Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification or an equivalent qualification.
• Experience of working as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant.
• The willingness to undertake further training, as appropriate.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• The desire to support the school’s Christian ethos and policies.
