Job details
Kingstone High School has a vacancy for a Cover Supervisor to cover the absence of teachers by supervising and supporting classes of pupils across different subject areas whilst they carry out pre-set activities and lessons.
We are seeking candidates who are interested in working with young people with a range of abilities, who enjoy a varied and constantly changing routine and able to communicate confidently and effectively with students and other members of staff. As a cover supervisor you will need to be calm and work well under pressure, able to think on your feet, react effectively to potential situations and follow our school behaviour procedures.
The successful candidate will have good numeracy and literacy skills and competence in the use of ICT to support teaching and learning. You will ensure the classroom environment is safe, productive, tidy and harmonious in the absence of the class teacher and keep students motivated to stay on task. On-going training will be available to support you in the role and your personal and professional development.
If this could be you, we would love to hear from you. You will be a valued member of our staff team and work alongside supportive colleagues.
Kingstone Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful candidate will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service enhanced check and further pre-employment checks will be conducted in accordance with KCSIE. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
