Kingstone High School currently has a vacancy for a Cover Supervisor to cover the absence of teachers by supervising and supporting classes of pupils whilst they carry out pre-set activities.
We are seeking candidates who are interested in working with young people, enjoy a varied and constantly changing routine and able to communicate confidently and effectively with students and other members of staff. As a cover supervisor you will need to be patient, calm and work well under pressure, able to think on your feet, react quickly and effectively to potential situations and able to control classroom behaviour.
The successful candidate will have good numeracy and literacy skills and competence in the use of ICT to support teaching and learning.
Kingstone Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful candidate will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service enhanced check and further pre-employment checks will be conducted in accordance with KCSIE. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
