Job details
Kingstone High School is seeking a SENDCo to cover a maternity leave on a fixed term contract. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced SEND practitioner, or an ambitious teacher ready to take the next step to lead and develop SEND provision within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
As part of their role, the successful applicant will:
· Ensure compliance with the SEN Code of Practice and statutory requirements
· Maintain and manage the SEN register and coordinate EHCP reviews
· Lead and manage SEND provision across the school
· Coordinate the delivery of high-quality teaching and intervention, with a commitment to inclusive classroom practices
· Advise and coach staff in best practices for supporting pupils with SEN
· Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to support student progress
· Work closely with teaching staff to promote high-quality, inclusive classroom practice
· Be a part of the school’s senior leadership team and contribute to whole-school improvement
We are looking for someone who has:
· Has experience working with pupils with a range of additional needs
· Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
· Achieved or be working towards the National Award for SEN Coordination NASENCO
· Strong working knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation
· Excellent communication, leadership, and time management skills
· Is passionate about inclusion and pupil wellbeing
