Job details

Start date: 1st September 2024

Kingstone High School requires a well-qualified and inspiring teacher to teach Food and Nutrition. Food and Nutrition is part of the curriculum for all KS3 students where the focus of lessons is to develop a love of food and cooking, to master practical skills and to begin to understand the principles of nutrition and sensible eating.  Students can opt to take Food, Preparation and Nutrition at GCSE.  The department is well supported by a part-time technician.

You will be a self-motivated classroom practitioner with excellent professional standards. An ability to teach a second subject would be an advantage but not essential.  We welcome applications from ECTs as well as more experienced colleagues and part time will be considered for the right candidate.

The current focus for the academy is to inspire our students and to raise aspirations and achievement through high quality learning experiences. Able to demonstrate a variety of behaviour management strategies and teaching styles, you will be well organised, and have high expectations of achievement and behaviour.

The school is situated in the Golden Valley village of Kingstone, just six miles south of the cathedral city of Hereford in the beautiful Herefordshire countryside. If you are interested in working in an area of natural beauty and would like to join a supportive and enthusiastic team of teachers, we would like to hear from you.

Kingstone Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful candidate will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service enhanced check and further pre-employment checks will be conducted in accordance with KCSIE. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
