The Governors of Eardisley CE Primary School are looking to appoint a kind and capable SEND Teaching Assistant to join our friendly, values-based village school team.  We are looking for someone who is able to work under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO to support an individualised curriculum and give in-class support as required.  The successful candidate will work in partnership with the class Teaching Assistant and one other SEND Teaching Assistant

We are looking for:

  • Experience working within KS1
  • An ability to empathise and work constructively developing positive relationships with children
  • Excellent communication skills
  • To support children with special educational needs in all learning activities, within and outside the classroom
  • Support for individual children's intervention programmes maintaining careful progress records and providing feedback to the class teacher and SENCo
  • Engagement of children in play activities at break times
  • Attendance at meetings and training
  • A sense of humour!

Eardisley C of E Primary School is committed to the protection and safety of its pupils and therefore the successful candidate will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check at Enhanced Level and further pre-employment checks will be conducted in accordance with KCSIE. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are “spent” unless they are “protected” under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children
