Earl Mortimer College & Sixth Form Centre seeks to appoint an outstanding, energetic and enthusiastic full-time Head of Technology to inspire our students and contribute fully to a collaborative, experienced and enthusiastic team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Head of Technology to lead and manage, Resistant Materials, Food Technology, Health & Social Care, Child Development and Computing. You will have a real passion for teaching and learning and a total commitment to our students and the College.

You will be joining a successful Faculty, based in fabulously equipped facilities including 2 Resistant Materials workshops, 1 Textiles room, 2 Food Technology rooms and 1 Graphics/Child Development room. Design Technology rooms have state of the art CNC facilities including laser cutting, forges, milling and turning facilities with CAD software.

The successful applicant will:

  • Be a strong and inspirational leader with a desire to drive forward a department that is committed to delivering an engaging, challenging and relevant curriculum.
  • Be an exceptional, well-qualified practitioner with a relevant degree and teaching qualification.
  • Have in depth curriculum knowledge including a secure knowledge of the relevant exam specifications
  • Be able to consistently model outstanding practice, with students’ progress and enjoyment of learning at the forefront of your teaching.
  • Have exceptional organisational and clear communication skills.
  • Show evidence of ambition and a commitment to continuing professional development.
