Job details

We are looking to recruit a skilled and experienced Minibus Driver to join our established team at Earl Mortimer College. The successful candidate will be required to safely transport pupils from home to school in the mornings and return them in the afternoons as well as transporting them to off-site education placements in Herefordshire when required.

Main responsibilities:

·       To ensure the safe transportation of students – checking they are properly seated at all times and following all safety standards

·       Carrying out regular checks on the minibus including fuel, oil and water levels and other basic checks, eg brakes and tyres

·       To keep the minibus clean and presentable inside and out

·       To ensure the servicing of the vehicle as required

You will need:

·       To be confident with transporting 11-16 year old students

·       To be able to relate well to students, parents and staff

·       A clean driving licence and a minibus licence

·       Enthusiasm and a strong commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students

·       To be a good timekeeper

·       To be flexible and work well as part of a team as well as being able to use your own initiative

·       To be willing to attend appropriate training as required, including that of Driver Assessment Training

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children. It is an offence to apply for the role if the applicant is barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
