Due to our current Class R/1 teacher taking maternity leave, the governors are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and talented EYFS/KS1 teacher.

The school is set in a beautiful location in the village of Garway in south-west Herefordshire, close to the Welsh border. Garway is set on a hillside above the River Monnow about 10 km northwest of Monmouth. It is a sparsely populated area, mainly agricultural in nature.

The successful applicant will:

·         Be friendly, caring, enthusiastic and conscientious.

·         Have a passion for developing the individual child through a personalised approach, alongside high expectations and a values-based ethos.

·         Have experience of teaching Early Years and/or KS1 children.

·         Have a good knowledge of the Early Years and KS1 curriculum, planning and effective assessment for learning practices.

·         Be highly committed to developing a creative curriculum within and outside of the classroom.

·         Be willing to contribute to the wider life of our busy school.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
