Permanent Contract to start as soon as possible
32.5 hours per week, term-time only
(job share or part time of 3 or 4 days would be considered for the right applicant)
Monday-Friday 8.30am to 3.30pm (½ hour unpaid lunch)

Herefordshire Pupil Referral Service (HPRS) provides education to pupils unable to attend mainstream school for various reasons. The service is currently split over three sites located within Hereford – St David’s Centre (KS4), The Aconbury Centre (KS3) and H3 (Hospital, Home, Hub Teaching Team), as well as our outdoor centres at Dinedor and The Harvest Project.
HPRS provides a safe, secure and welcoming learning environment in which young people can grow as responsible, independent and self-confident learners. We are on an exciting journey of whole service growth and development and continue to make significant steps forward in this quest.
The service benefits from a supportive Management Committee, an effective Senior Leadership Team and a dynamic team of experienced, committed staff.
We are looking for a learning support assistant to work at our St. David’s Centre to support the Key Stage 4 Curriculum.
We are interested in hearing from applicants who are:
- motivated and keen to support learning both inside and outside the classroom
- willing to support offsite trips and activities
- keen to help pupils overcome barriers to learning
- able to support pupils in developing their confidence, motivation, social skills and relationships enabling them to face new and challenging situations
- hold a driving licence and willing to drive school cars for trips would be advantageous
You will be joining a team which works hard to create a positive and caring community that puts children at the heart of everything we do. Candidates will need to be patient and understanding of difficulties that can be experienced by our pupils and have excellent communication skills.
