Herefordshire Pupil Referral Service (HPRS) provides education to pupils unable to attend mainstream school for various reasons. The successful applicant will be primarily based at The St Davids Centre (KS4) but could have the opportunity to work across our other two sites in Hereford City – The Aconbury Centre (KS3) and H3 (hospital school).

We provide a safe, secure and welcoming learning environment in which young people can grow as responsible, independent and self-confident learners. We are on an exciting journey of school improvement and are looking for staff who are enthusiastic about their subject and want to share that passion with young people.

We have an exciting opportunity for a sport teacher, whether, or not it is their specialism, we require the successful candidate to be able to facilitate positive, high-quality sporting opportunities and support the KS4 curriculum. 

We are looking for a teacher who can build relationships with small groups of pupils and encourage them to realise that they can experience success in not just their studies, but in their life in general. Most of our pupils have experienced failure and we work to empower them and to support them to achieve.

Experience of working in a PRU setting would be advantageous but not essential. We are looking for someone with a passion for their subject, someone who is approachable, reflective, calm and cares about the disadvantaged.

Our aim is to re-engage our pupils in learning and to provide them with a high-quality curriculum where they can develop their skills in a safe and secure environment.

You must be:

• Passionate about your subject; able to inspire and motivate students and staff.
• Committed to ensuring all students reach their potential
• Able to recognise opportunities and face challenges, whilst maintaining your sense of humour and care for young people.
• Capable of promoting partnerships and collaborative working.
• A role model for our students and staff.
