Job details
Our School and Governors wish to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Caretaker who:
- Has a practical, hands-on approach and is able to undertake basic maintenance and handyperson duties around the school.
- Has a good awareness of health and safety and understands the importance of maintaining a safe, clean and secure school environment.
- Is able to support with the security of the school premises, including locking and unlocking the building when required.
- Is vigilant and pays close attention to the security and condition of the school site.
- Is willing and able to respond to occasional call-outs, where available.
- Can undertake porterage duties, including moving equipment and assisting with deliveries.
- Is able to carry out general site duties, including keeping playgrounds and external areas safe, tidy and free from hazards.
- Can liaise professionally with contractors, staff and visitors when required.
- Is reliable, flexible and able to use their own initiative.
- Is willing to undertake relevant training as required.
- Is committed to supporting and modelling the ethos and values of our school.
The role will be offered on a zero-hours basis, with work offered according to the needs of the school. This may include providing cover for staff absence, supporting with school events, responding to site issues or completing maintenance and caretaking tasks as required.
Peterchurch Primary was recognised by OFSTED as a good school with many exceptional features in March 2024. Visits to the school by prior appointment are warmly welcomed.
