About the Role

St Francis Xavier’s is a caring and vibrant Catholic primary school rooted in Gospel values. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our committed team, supporting pupils with additional needs to flourish academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.

You will work closely with teachers to provide high-quality support that enables every child to achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities

· Support pupils individually and in small groups to access learning

· Assist the teacher with lesson delivery and preparation of resources

· Support pupils with additional needs on a 1:1 basis following direct instruction from the class teacher

· Promote positive behaviour in line with our relational behaviour policy

· Contribute to pupils’ wellbeing and personal development throughout the day

· Support classroom organisation and school activities

The Ideal Candidate Will:

· Have experience of working with children (school or similar setting)

· Demonstrate patience, kindness and a nurturing approach

· Be committed to supporting a Catholic ethos

· Show strong communication skills, enthusiasm and a love of learning

· Share our commitment to high expectations for all children

· Hold GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (essential)
