Westfield School is an all age Special School for students with a range of learning difficulties, situated in the heart of the market town of Leominster, North Herefordshire. There are currently 72 pupils on roll organised between seven class groups.

We are seeking an experienced teacher to cover the maternity leave of our Early Years/ Key Stage 1 teacher. This is a key post, welcoming our youngest pupils into school, some for the first time, and would suit someone experienced in a Nursery/EYFS setting, with relevant SEND experience and insight. This is an opportunity to further your SEN experience by joining our successful team and play a key role in the continuing development of our mission for the future.

You must have the ability and desire to work within a close-knit staff team, providing relevant learning opportunities to a diverse group of young people. A recognised qualification, experience or training in this area would be essential due to the period of cover required, and the specialist nature of curriculum delivery we provide.

Do you have:

• Proven teaching skills based on assessment for learning and creative curriculum design?
• Experience in assessing and tracking pupils' progress to ensure maximum success, ideally including the Reception baseline assessment?
• Experience in skills specific to our cohort, and relevant communication strategies?
